- Description
- Sources Sought Electron Beam •The machine should be a Powder Bed Fusion system, as defined by the ASTM as "An additive manufacturing process in which thermal energy selectively fuses regions of a powder bed."(REF: International Standardization Organization/ASTM 52900-15 Standard Terminology for Additive Manufacturing.) •The machine's thermal energy source should be an electron beam with a minimum of 3000 watts power. •The electron beam should have a minimum focus diameter of 250 micrometers. •The electron beam shall be capable of being scanned across the build area at user controlled speeds up to 8000 m/s •The process chamber should have the capability of being heated and operated to a maximum temperature of 1100 celcius. •The machine shall be capable of operating in vacuum build environment with a maximum partial pressure of helium of 2 x 10-3 millibar. The system must use vacuum control to draw down the atmosphere of the build chamber. •The build volume should be a minimum of 200 mm by 200 mm by 380 mm. •The machine weight shall not exceed 1700 kilograms. •The machine shall have dimensions not to exceed 1850 mm x 900 mm x 2200 mm (W x D x H) •The machine shall be supplied with a process chiller •The machine shall be supplied with an electrical transformer which meets power requirements of system •Process parameters for the machine shall be open to the user and have the ability to be edited •Vendor shall provide installation and basic training at time of installation •Vendor shall provide sufficient materials/consumables to complete training and test builds at time of installation •Vendor shall provide advanced training on machine and parameter development/editing at a time not to exceed 1 year from initial installation/training
