- SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS AND SITE VISIT SCHEDULE This is a Sources Sought Synopsis announcement to be used for preliminary market research information purposes. It is also a site visit notice so that prospective contractors can see the site before the area is inaccessible. This is NOT a solicitation for proposal - do not send pricing information. Market research is being performed to determine the best method to advertise the Government's needs. Responses received will determine they type of solicitation to issue. No reimbursement will be made for any costs incurred, associated with: providing information in response to this synopsis, attending the site visit, or any follow up information requests. No funds are presently available for this effort. The Government reserves the right to cancel this sources sought. The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests in Colorado anticipates soliciting for and awarding a contract for Road Reconstruction. This contract will include: opening of a new pit and using existing pits for aggregate, producing, loading, hauling, spreading and compaction of aggregate, fringe clearing and other road reconstruction items. The work will take place on 2 separate roads: 1) Owl Creek - Cimarron Road, National Forest System Road (NFSR) 858 at the Forest Boundary to the intersection with NFSR 868.1b (East Fork Road) (T.45N., R7W., NW 1/4 NW 1/4 Section 3 to T.46N., R.6W, SW 1/4 SW 1/4 Section 27) 2) Alpine Plateau Road, National Forest System Road (NFSR) 867 from Highway 50 intersection and NFSR 867 (T.48N., R.5W., NW1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section 23 to T.46N., R.4W, Section 32 - Intersection with 867.3J) SITE VISIT SCHEDULED: (WEATHER PERMITTING) DATE: NOVEMBER 15, 2017 TIME: 9:00 A.M. (MOUNTAIN TIME) - LOCATION 1 LOCATION 1 -WESTERN FOREST BOUNDARY OF NATIONAL FOREST SYSTEM ROAD 858 (RIDGEWAY SIDE OF OWL CREEK PASS). THE TOUR WILL PROCEED TO THE END OF THE PROJECT ON OWL CREEK PASS. TIME: 1:00 P.M. (MOUNTAIN TIME) - LOCATION 2 LOCATON 2 - NATIONAL FOREST SYSTEM ROAD 867 AND HIGHWAY 50. THE TOUR WILL PROCEED TO THE END OF THE PROJECT ON ALPINE. A map of the roads and site visit meeting locations will be added to this notice.
