- Market Research Survey This is "not" a request for either a quote or proposal. This announcement is considered market research in accordance with FAR Part 10. NO SOLICITATION IS BEING ISSUED AT THIS TIME. THE DLA LAND AND MARITIME IS ISSUING THIS SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS AS A MEANS OF CONDUCTING MARKET RESEARCH TO IDENTIFY PARTIES HAVING AN INTEREST IN AND THE RESOURCES TO SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: ITEM: RESISTOR, THERMAL NSN 5905-01-127-8694 is to be procured in-accordance-with approved sources CAGE 07217 part number 625420-3-1 or CAGE 65410 P/N 200037-1 In-Accordance-With Drawings (07217) 625420-3-1 and all associated drawings. Honeywell Limited (07217) and Thermocontrol, Inc. (65410) are the only current approved sources. Once the solicitation is issued, interested sources must submit the appropriate information outlined underL04 Offers for Part Numbered Idtems (SEPT 2016) and M06 Evaluation of Offers for Part Numbered Items (SEP 2016). Contractor First Article Testing will be required for all non-waived sources as well as Product Verification Testing, and Source Inspection Contractor Production Lot Testing will be required. NOTE: This part requires engineering source approval by the design control activity in order to maintain the quality of the part. Existing unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge by the qualified source(s) require acquisition of the part from the approved source(s). The approved source(s) retain data rights, manufacturing knowledge, or technical data that are not economically available to the Government, and the data or knowledge is essential to maintaining the quality of the part. An alternate source must qualify in accordance with the design control activity's procedures, as approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. The qualification procedures must be approved by the Government engineering activity having jurisdiction over the part in the intended application. To ensure continued product integrity of the item, procurement is restricted to sources listed in the supplier information section of this document. These sources are known to have the required experience and due to the critical application of this item, alternate sources must be approved in accordance with the design control activities procedures and requirements which have been established by responsible government engineering authority and outlined in the included SQAP. Adequate data for the evaluation of alternate offers is not available at the procurement agency. The offeror must provide a complete data package including data for the approved and alternate part for evaluation. Joint Certification Program (JCP) Certification requirement applies. The solicitation document contains information that has been designated as "Militarily Critical Technical Data" and have been "classified". Only businesses that have been certified by the Department of Defense, United States/Canada Joint Certification Office, and have a valid security clearance may have a copy of the solicitation document and drawings. This is a "Critical Application Item". This is a Navy Identified Critical Safety Item (CSI). A quantity of 250 each up to 600 each may be required and will be shipped to a DLA stocking location. The purpose of this synopsis is to locate sources interested in becoming approved sources and for any additional approved sources. Submission Instructions: Responses to this Request for Information (RFI), along with the attached Market Research Survey, must be sent to Kenneth Planty via email at kenneth.planty@dla.mil by the response date listed in this synopsis and should include in their submission, information on their products/services, company, CAGE code, capability, company size/profile, and any other supportive information. Respondents will be placed on the solicitation mailing list. This RFI is for market research purposes only. Any information submitted is at the company's own expense. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any costs associated with submission of capability statements in connection with the market survey. Any information provided is voluntary.
