Description
Roving Peace Corps IT Specialist (PSC) - Application Form Roving Peace Corps IT Specialist (PSC) - Statement of Work Peace Corps (PC) seeks candidates with past IT Specialist experience at a Peace Corps post who are highly experienced in Information Technology (IT) systems, Information Cyber Security compliance, IT training, and IT customer service with the ability to travel on extended assignments to support posts worldwide. The Roving Information Technology Specialist (ITS) (Personal Services Contractor (PSC)) will work to carry out data-gathering and analysis, international coordination tasks, compliance and standardization projects, and other efforts for the Office of International Support and Operations (ISO) in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), as well as on-demand Information Technology Specialist (ITS) duties at requesting posts administering the local IT systems, maintaining mandated IT configurations, and ensuring that all IT systems adhere to the Peace Corps and US Government Policy. The Roving ITS reports directly to the ISO Manager and is expected to exercise initiative, independent judgment and skill while carrying out recurring duties. See attached Statement of Work for complete description of responsibilities. Working Conditions: Each of the one or more anticipated Personal Services Contract(s) will be for a one-year period with up to four (4) option years, exercisable based on satisfactory performance, availability of funds, and continued need. The work schedule will be full-time. Flexible work schedule and frequent travel. This position requires travel between 40%-100% of the time on overseas assignments to support a post's IT needs, and therefore requires extreme flexibility and adaptability. Location of performance will be determined with the selected candidate. When not traveling, the selected candidate will either work remotely, from a Peace Corps post or a combination of the two as agreed upon between the Peace Corps and the selected candidate. Compensation and Benefits: Pre-tax compensation will be negotiated within the appropriate range for the position based on the duties and responsibilities included in the Statement of Work at the discretion of the Peace Corps Contracting Officer. Items of consideration may include salary history and experience. Benefits will be offered for this position in accordance with guidance provided by Peace Corps' Office of Acquisition and Contract Management. Relocation costs will not be covered by Peace Corps. Pre-Contract Requirements: A background security investigation will be required. The contract award will be subject to the contractor's successful completion of a background security investigation and issuance of an appropriate security document/clearance. The contract award will be subject to the contractor receiving adequate medical evaluation and clearance for overseas assignments worldwide. Contractors may be required to register in the Central Contractor Registration database before being awarded a Federal Government contract. Registration can be completed at: https://www.sam.gov. Must be eligible to receive a U.S. visa or otherwise be able to legally enter the U.S. Required Minimum Qualifications: * Prior experience as a Peace Corps IT Specialist overseas. * Minimum of ten years of experience as an IT Specialist or with Peace Corps/ another international organization of similar size conducting systems administration, IT security compliance, and customer support. * Familiarity with the United States federal IT security mandates and experience with auditing and compliance to mandates. * Experience in developing and administering IT training. * Demonstrated ability to perform requirements gathering, data collection, and technical writing. * Ability to travel on short notice for potentially long durations of time. * Proficiency in English (speaking, writing, reading) * Provision of a completed, signed application form and resume, including three professional references relevant to this position. Desired Qualifications: *Additional skill or years of experience in the areas listed above. * Prior experience as an IT Specialist who has traveled internationally as part of their job. * Prior experience working on formal IT projects as part of a project team to either gather requirements or complete project work to fulfill project objectives. * Experience working as a leader within an IT multi-national team Competitive evaluation of applicants determined to have met the Required Minimum Qualifications noted above (as well as the Desired Qualifications, depending on the number of minimally qualified applications received) via interview and/or reference checks will be based on the following criteria: * Language Proficiency * Prior experience as a Peace Corps IT Specialist overseas. * Experience as an IT specialist for or with Peace Corps/ another international organization of similar size conducting systems administration, IT security compliance, and customer support. * Experience in developing and administering IT training. * Experience an IT Specialist who has traveled internationally as part of their job. * Leadership experience with an IT multi-national team.
