- The purpose of this Sources Sought Anouncement is to locate sources for the acquisition of a Control, Intercommunication Set, NSN 5831-01-491-9407. The Control, Intercommunication Set is approved for use on U.S. Army Blackhawk helicopters and it is a communication device that provides audio monitoring and voice transmission selection capabilities to multiple radio channel. It also provides internal communications between the pilot and crew. The aassigned Acquisition Method Code is 3 and the Acquisition Method Suffix Code is Q. An AMC code of 3 means acquire, for the second or subsequent time, directly from the actual manufacturer. An AMSC code of Q means the Government does not have adequate data, lacks rights to the data, or both needed to purchase this part from additional sources; the Government has been unable to economically buy the data or rights to the data, although the part has been undergoing full screening for 12 or more months. Drawings are not available. Companies must demonstrate that they have received Air Worthiness Release (AWR) from the U.S. Army for use in UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter airframes for their Control, Intercommunication Set. Please complete the following questions when responding. This Request for Information (RFI) is for planning and market research purposes only, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. The information gathered from this announcement will be used to determine if responsible sources exist, and to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or set aside for Small Business. Furthermore, the Government will use the information, in part, to determine the best acquisition strategy for a potential procurement action and to assist in making future acquisition strategy decisions. This is NOT a Request for Quote or Proposal. The Government does notintend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or reimburse any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this RFI.
