- Purpose and Objectives: The intent of this Sources Sought Notice is to identify potential offerors capable of providing ION Channel Reader as listed below in the Statement of Work. These are for the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice should demonstrate the firm's ability, capability, and responsibility to provide the principal components of supplies listed in the attached document. Responses should include the following information: Verify that the business is under 334516 of the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS), Verification of Size Standard under the NAICS, Business name, address, Point of Contact, and if the business has verification as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business or Veteran Owned Small Business. All information is to be submitted via e-mail at Daniel.Johnson44@va.gov. Information provided will not be returned. All responses shall be in the English Language. Responses are due by 12:00 P.M. (EST) on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. No submissions will be accepted after this date and time. Questions can be submitted electronically to Daniel.Johnson44@va.gov. This is a Sources Sought Notice and submissions will be used for informational and planning purposes only. This notice does not constitute a formal Request for Quote (RFQ), nor is the government obligated to issue an RFQ. In addition, the Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. STATEMENT OF WORK A GENERAL INFORMATION A.1 INTRODUCTION University of Pittsburgh is requesting the purchase of an Ion channel reader for research purposes. A.2 BACKGROUND University of Pittsburgh is requesting the purchase of an Ion channel reader so that they can determine ion fluxes through electrically neutral chloride channels(NKCC1). NKCC1 is a new target for ischemic stroke. With this equipment, they will be able to conduct experiments to accurately determine ion fluxed through NKCC1. This equipment will allow them to accelerate drug testing and enable test efficacy of the novel stroke therapies. A.3 SCOPE OF WORK This request is for the purchase of an Ion channel Reader. This purchase will include and insurance costs. Included in these charges are the installation, calibration and demonstration of the equipment in on the site training. This purchase is to include a 12 month warranty on parts and shop labor from date of installation. A.4 DELIVERY The delivery will be made within 45 days ARO. One day is required for installation and training. B WORK REQUIREMENTS B.1 Once the equipment is shipped to the VA the vendor will contact the POC coordinator, to arrange installation and training. B.2 The Vendor shall supply personnel to install equipment B.3 The vendors representative will uncrate and set up all equipment, ensuring all connections have been made and equipment functions as to specifications. B.4 The Vendor s representative will test all equipment to ensure it is functioning according to specifications. B.5 The vendor will provide training to staff once equipment is set up and tested. C GENERAL REQUIREMENTS C.1 This purchase is to be delivered to: University of Pittsburgh South Biomedical Science Tower, Rm S537 200 Lothorp Street Pittsburgh, PA 15213 C.2 The Vendor is to contact the University of Pittsburgh to ensure they comply with all policies and regulations of this facility. This purchase does require the contractor to be on site to install and conduct training. This equipment will be installed at the University of Pittsburgh and will not be housed on VA property. Contractor will not perform work on-site at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. Contractor may not have access to any VA sensitive information or to the VA network under this contract. C.3 Standard work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM.
