- Page 1 of 1 The purpose of this amendment is to provide vendor questions and the Government s response, to update the RFI attachment, and to extend the due date for responses to the RFI from November 24th, to November 28th. Question: There is a reference to a pilot project in the PIO group. See paragraph below. Can you share who is performing this work now? In order to effectively achieve this, individual programs officials retain the responsibility to identify and prevent FWA, while PIO will work to provide the tools for success. For example, in FY 18, PIO is working on a pilot program that includes an independent assessment of the risk for fraud, waste, and abuse in each of VA s 85 programs and an automated tool to assist in the future risk assessments. Response: VA has partnered with Department of Treasury s Financial Innovation Transformation office on a pilot program for setting up an optimal program integrity office and performing some projects such as new methods for VA programs to identify FWA risk. Department of Treasury will translate the results to a playbook that can be used in other Government agencies. The work is currently ongoing and involves contractor support from Department of Treasury. See attached Updated VA 85 Programs with Risk Scores FWA Risk Scores_11-9-17.xlsx
