- Plan Cover Sheet This is not an Invitation for Bid, final plans and specs are not available. This pre-bid meeting notice is being given to solicit contractor interest and to orient contractors with the project site prior to the bid opening. Representatives from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will conduct a site visit on Tuesday November 28, from 9:00 a.m. Utah time to approximately 1 p.m. Utah time. Interested parties will meet at Mile Post 1.7 of Ephraim Canyon Road, at the large pullout at the end of Asphalt, located about 3.4 Miles East of Ephraim, UT at 9:00 a.m. and depart for the project site after a brief presentation. Each Offeror will provide their own transportation to review the project site. Notice: The project is at extremely high elevation and there is potential for winter weather. Bring vehicles capable of such conditions. Questions will be addressed after a brief presentation by the FHWA; a summary of those questions, the agenda, and any other information from the pre-bid meeting will be posted to www.fbo.gov shortly after. Key maps of the project work areas will be provided. 100% plans will be available when the project is advertised in or after February 2018. ATTENDANCE AT THE PROJECT PRE-BID MEETING IS NOT MANDATORY TO BID THE PROJECT. PROJECT NUMBER: UT FLAP 2496(1) PROJECT NAME: Ephraim Canyon Road PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The proposed project consists of the rehabilitation and paving of Ephraim Canyon Road (SR 29) from MP 1.7 to MP 6.5. Ephraim Canyon Road is a major collector southeast of the town of Ephraim in Sanpete County, Utah. The County owns and maintains the mountainous roadway which is partially located in the Manti-La Sal National Forest (USFS). Schedule A spans the first 3.8 miles from the end of the pavement on Ephraim Canyon Road to the Willow Creek Road intersection, and Option X spans the last 1.1 miles from Willow Creek Road to the road to Lake Hill Campground. The existing, 28-foot-wide, gravel road was engineered and widened in 2007. The prosed typical section includes a 26 foot wide paved width with shouldering and graded ditches. Roadway improvements include shaping and grading the existing bench, new asphalt concrete, drainage and safety improvements. Additional work includes the installation of select new culverts, embankment repair, underdrain installation, minor cut slopes, parking lot construction, paving pullouts, signing and striping, guardrail replacement, seeding, and grading ditches. SIGNIFICANT QUANTITIES (Schedule A and Option X): 5 miles of roadway reconditioning 12,000 ton of Aggregate Base 23,000 ton Asphalt Pavement Survey (LPSM) Temporary traffic control (LPSM) ESTIMATED DOLLAR AMOUNT INCLUDING OPTIONS: $3 to $6 million
