Description

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS&IMF), Bremerton, WA requires refurbishment, upgrade, calibration, and testing of two (2) Rotational Deployment Mechanisms (RDM) for Advanced Secondary Propulsion Units (ASPU), including associated training motors, for a United States Navy Submarine. The work is to be performed as required by Submarine Maintenance Engineering Planning and Procurement (SUBMEPP) maintenance requirement (MRID) 59908 implemented by the following references: - NAVSEA Technical Manual S9238-AH-MMA-010, Maintenance Manual, 325 HP Advanced Secondary Propulsion System for [Submarine] - NAVSEA Submarine Maintenance Standard 2380-081-033 - Restore Secondary Propulsion Rotational Deployment Mechanism (including Training Motor) - NAVSEA Submarine Maintenance Standard 2380-081-027 - Restore Secondary Propulsion System Rotational Deployment Mechanism Rotary Joint This is a sole source requirement as per FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements" as authorized by Citations: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) or 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Curtiss-Wright Electro-Mechanical Corporation is the original co-designer and original equipment manufacturer (OEM), and due to applicable patents and proprietary design protections, is the only responsible vendor capable of performing the required work. Expected period of performance 15 June 2018 to 15 February 2019.
