Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, New Jersey, intends to procure by using a 100% Small Business Set-aside, Shipboard Micro Spot Welders to support maintenance and repair of the V-22 Osprey aircraft. Each Spot Welder consists of a 1000ws Dual Pulse Industrial CD spot welder and a pistol grip hand piece with button trigger for use at the Organizational Level of Maintenance in support of the V-22 Aircraft. This competitive, 100% Small Business Set-aside procurement will be conducted using the lowest priced, technically acceptable (LTPA) approach. The criteria for technical acceptability are defined by the system requirements identified in the RFP. Bid Samples will be requested from offerors whose technical proposals have been rated as acceptable and who have been retained in the competitive range. The bid samples shall be delivered to the Government within 30 days after receipt of Government bid sample request. The Government will test the bid samples for compliance with system requirements identified in the RFP and perform EMI testing in accordance with the SOW. The bid samples will be returned to the offerors upon completion. Should a bid sample become damaged as a result of the EMI testing, the US Navy will pay for the cost of repair or replacement in the case that a unit cannot be repaired. The Government will only release the solicitation/RFP, including any subsequent amendments, on the FEDBIZOPPS.GOV website. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted, no written requests will be accepted and no hard copies of the solicitation package will be mailed. Any amendment issued will be posted to the same website. After the solicitation release, vendors should regularly access the website to ensure they have all amendments. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Registration in the Department of Defense DoD System for Award Management (SAM) database will be a prerequisite for receiving an award. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. This synopsis is for administrative purposes only. It does not constitute a solicitation for bid or proposals, and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government.
