Description
Industry Day Announcement The Mission and Installation Contracting Command - Fort Sill, OK will hold a Conference (Industry Day) on 14 December 2017 from 8:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. at the Lawton, OK Great Plains Vocational-Technical Center. The topic will be the impact the "Grow the Army" initiative is having on projected contract support requirements at Fort Sill, OK. This Industry Day is open to all industries including Supplies and Services and Construction. NAICS Codes impacted will include 561210 Facilities Maintenance; 541990 - All Other Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services; 541330 - Engineering Services; 541714 - Research and Development in Biotechnology (except Nano biotechnology); 611430 - Professional and Management Development Training; 611710 - Educational Support Services; 236220-Commercial and Institutional Building General Contractors; 722310- Food Service Contractors and 561210 Facilities Support Services. Currently, with limited exceptions, contract support is provided by Small Business contracts. However, Large Business contractors who can offer contract support as subcontractor's/teaming partners with Small Business contracts are strongly encouraged to attend. It is anticipated that future requirements and contract growth may exceed some small businesses capacity to support. In those instances, many large business contractors may be able to provide the support required of Small Business contractors. This event is meant to provide information to industry and serve as a means for companies to meet and discuss needs and capabilities with one another. Attendees should look forward to: Preview of projected/estimated contract requirements and an opportunity to "match make" with other companies providing similar services. The day will begin with a slide presentation followed by question and answer sessions. The event will provide information which the Government may use for planning purposes and/or decisions regarding the appropriate acquisition strategies for future requirements. In order to support Fort Sill mission training initiatives accelerated schedules will be required to meet rapidly changing and evolving requirements. The Government may decide (based upon discussion and market research) to utilize existing Contracts (including General Service Administration), secure authorization for 8(a) contract or use other streamlined contracting approaches in executing awards based upon the timeline to stand up contracts and meet mission requirements. The future growth of contract requirements is expected to be significant based upon current planning projections. The Government briefing will address upcoming efforts associated with the growth of the Army, increased student loads, summer surge requirements and new initiatives. This notice does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Government is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Background Information: Much of the anticipated growth at Fort Sill, OK will impact supplies, service and repair and maintenance requirements currently supported by existing contracts. For example, instructor requirements, capability managers, minor construction projects are supported by task orders issued against existing enterprise contracts or local IDIQ contracts. It is anticipated that much of the contract support required for future growth will be obtained through existing contracts. However, it is not apparent to the Government if incumbent contractors are aware of the magnitude of anticipated future growth at Fort Sill, OK or the vast number of large businesses that can provide augmented support to a small business's as needed. The intent of this Industry day is threefold (1) to provide for open communication with industry; (2) open lines of communication between various industries supporting Fort Sill needs and (3) ensure Fort Sill is positioned to support evolving missions as they become know.
