Description
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Maritime Puget Sound is issuing this sources sought notice as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in, and, the available resources to support a requirement for a Virtual Reality Crane Simulation Training, in support of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, for the following requirement: 1 each Virtual Reality Mobile Crane Simulator 1 each Virtual Motion Base Crane Simulator 1 each Virtual Reality Overhead Crane Operator Simulator 1 each Virtual Motion Base Overhead Crane Operator Simulator Additional specifications include: Motion based simulators shall mirror cab operator experience via simulation of movement providing the user with haptic feedback. Simulation should also include the use of virtual reality as a visual aid and provide the user with sound. Software will provide training plans that mirror real life experience such as pre-operational inspection, pre-lift assessments, crane load charts, capacity, travel paths, shut down, and securing the crane. Software will provide learning scenarios such as following signals, practicing blind lift protocols, complex travel paths, as well as dealing with hazardous weather conditions such as high winds and rain. Simulators will come with an annual subscription that will allow an unlimited number of users to access the virtual reality programs and software for training purposes. Software will be Oculus Rift, Notepad++, and Unity, as these software versions are approved for use. Approved for use in Shipyard within Cybersecurity guidelines. This requirement will be for firm fixed-price supply type contract. The results of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 336413. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME.
