Page 1 of 1 36C25018Q0153 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Ventana Reagents Cleveland The Department of Veterans Affairs, Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center (CLE VAMC), 10701 East Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with Roche Diagnostics Corporation, 9115 Hague Road Indianapolis, IN 46256. Ventana is the only source that can provide the specific reagents and supplies for the Ventana Bench Mark Ultra and Ventana Special Stain analyzer currently in use by the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service (PLMS) at the CLE VAMC to perform cancer diagnostic testing. The reagents are specific to the equipment used and alternate vendors cannot provide acceptable reagent systems. The reagents are only available through Ventana. The Government believes that only one business can satisfy the agency requirements and intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Other persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to this by Monday, December 4, 2017 at 5PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.  All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government.   A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
