- Subject: Request for Information (RFI) on Rugged Tablet PCs THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS REQUEST IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES, AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN INVITATION FOR BIDS, REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTES OR AN INDICATION THAT THE GOVERNMENT WILL CONTRACT FOR THE ITEMS CONTAINED IN THIS NOTICE. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT REIMBURSE RESPONDENTS FOR ANY COST ASSOCIATED WITH THE SUBMISSSION OF THE INFORMATION BEING REQUESTED OR REIMBURSE EXPENSES INCURRED TO THE INTERESTED PARTIES FOR REPONSES. This is a sources sought announcement only. There is no solicitation available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 541715 Contractors must identify their business type (i.e., large, small, small and disadvantaged, 8(a) certified, woman-owned small, HUB Zone certified small, or service disabled veteran-owned small business) in their response. The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC), Command, Power and Integration (CP&I) is conducting a market survey to identify sources with the interest and capability to provide technologies related to rugged tablet PCs. The ultimate goal is to identify potential solutions for tactical military use cases inside and outside of command posts. Reduced Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) profile, while providing the maximum amount of processor, memory, battery life and storage performance possible, are the objectives of this RFI. CP&I's goal is to determine which technologies and capabilities are available for the next generation implementation by the Army CPs, as well as identifying trends in this solution space. Technologies could be used in any or all battlefield environments, including extreme temperatures, humidity and dust. These desired minimum capabilities for the system are requested to include, but not be limited to, the following: • Designed to meet applicable MIL-STD-810G specifications for temperature, rain/wind resistance, sand/dust resistance, and drops. • Battery: Dual, hot-swappable. Minimum of 2.5 hours • Memory: Minimum 8GB RAM • Storage: Minimum 256GB, Solid State (Preference Removable) • Processor: Minimum Intel I7, 3rd Generation, with 1.7GHz • Network: 10/100/1000 base-T Ethernet • Display Resolution: Minimum 1024 x 768 • TPM 2.0 Minimum This sources sought notice is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids/proposals. It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this sources sought announcement. Responses will assist the Government in determining potential responsible sources and to determine the technical capability of the domestic production base. The Government is requesting contractors provide sufficient information in the form of a white paper which should include a description of the capabilities, technical expertise, and relevant past experience. All submissions must be in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF (1-inch margins and 12 point Arial or Times New Roman font). Responses must be no longer than three (3) pages in length and should include a description of capabilities and technical specifications. All respondents are required to complete the System for Award Management (SAM) process to be considered eligible for any potential Department of Defense contracts.
