Description
Single Source Justification Bone Assisted Hearing Aid The 502d Contracting Squadron at JBSA-Randolph, TX intends to award a single source purchase order to Cochlear Americas Corporation, 13059 E. Peakview Ave, Centennial, CO 80111 (CAGE: 06QL6) under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The proposed contract action is for one (1) each bone anchored hearing aid, BAHA 5 Cochlear implant systems, Part No. 95202, with various accessories in support of the Otolaryngology Clinical division to facilitate a surgery. The Otolaryngology Clinical Physician, who has the onus of selecting the most appropriate cochlear device to fit the particular patient, has requested the BAHA 5 Sound Processor Cochlear system. The Clinical Physician has determined purchasing this particular brand of cochlear devices will facilitate the highest medical care for the WHASC patient. Furthermore, the Clinical Physician currently has and is trained on Cochlear America Corp's set of tools, which are specifically designed to interface only with Cochlear America Corp's BAHA 5 Cochlear implant systems. Please see attached Single Source Justification for further details. The NAICS Code for this acquisition is 334510, and the small business size standard is 1,250 employees. While the intent of the Government is to award single source to Cochlear Americas Corporation, responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which will be considered by the agency. Responses must be received by the Government no later than December 12, 2017, 2:00 P.M. (CST). A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement action based on responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government.
