Description
Request Form Inland Route Crooked River The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, is seeking to identify potential contractors that have the capability to provide construction services to dredge part of the Crooked River, in Alanson, Michigan. The project involves dredging between 500 to 900 cubic yards of material and placing the material at an upland site located approximately six miles from the project area. (Dredge area is adjacent to the Two Loons Marina, in Alanson, Michigan and the placement site is located south of Brutus Road, east of Snider Road, in Maple River Township, Michigan). Material dredged from the Federal channel would be transferred to trucks at a boat ramp located at Two Loons Marina in Alanson. All dredging must be completed from the marine-base plant or platforms due to load restrictions at the marina. Specialized equipment maybe needed in order to operate within the narrow, shallow channel (less than five feet deep). There are also constraints with respect to vessel/equipment passage due to a small swing bridge located just upstream of the project site. The marina would only be used for mobilization/demobilization and material transfer. Limited staging area would be provided at the marina's boat ramp. Stock piling material at the marina would be prohibited. Tasks may also include: • Site grading at the placement site • Removal and replacement of wooden marina docks All equipment needed to complete the project would be the responsibility of the contractor. This project is expected to be solicited in early spring 2018. Physical work is planned to begin late spring 2018. The estimated cost of construction is between $ 250,000.00-500,000.00. Requests from Contractor: • Briefly describe how dredging would be accomplished. • Type(s) of equipment that would be used.
