Description

Modification of Contract Justification & Approval to modify existing Task Order, W912DY-15-D-0082-0002, to The rationale for justifying and approving the demolition of building 209, under the FY17 Santa Susana Field demolition effort is that the work was erroneously excluded from the performance work statement (PWS) of the original task order and that the Government (GOV) will save an estimated $225,000 by amending the PWS to include this building. If the Government did not utilize the existing on-site contractor and used a stand-alone contract to demolish this 600 SF building, the cost to the Government would be between $300,000.00 and $350,000.00 via a separate task order for this one missed building. The Governments estimated cost to demolish this building as a modification to the existing task order is $125,901.80, resulting in an estimated cost savings to the GOV of $225,000.00. Along with a cost saving, GOV will realize an efficiency through a shortened schedule and less review efforts. These include eliminating additional mobilization and demobilization periods of Work, Quality Control and Accident Prevention Plans submittals, reviews, and approvals since CEI is already onsite and has the requisite plans in place.
