- Pre-solicitation notice. Synopsis: This pre-solicitation notice informs prospective offerors about an anticipated opportunity to be published by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Malawi for supplying and installing two-room, prefabricated classroom blocks and pit latrines at thirty three existing schools in four urban areas in Malawi. USAID/Malawi intends to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) for full and open competition on/around January 2018, under which USAID anticipates awarding a firm-fixed-price contract with an estimated price range of USD 5-10 million. USAID/Malawi anticipates a 6-8 month period of performance for this requirement and the procedures set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 15 and 36 will apply. DISCLAIMER The purpose of this Notice is to comply with the requirements of FAR 5.2 - Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions. Furthermore, this procurement was included in USAID's Mission Business Forecast. Prospective Offerors are advised that this procurement is subject to internal USAID approvals and the availability of funds. This is not a Request for Proposals (RFP) and the USAID/Malawi does NOT invite offerors to submit proposals in response to this pre-solicitation synopsis nor will USAID/Malawi accept comments, questions/inquiries in response to this pre-solicitation synopsis and will NOT respond to any. NO awards are anticipated to be made in response to this pre-solicitation synopsis. All information required for the submission of an offer will be contained in the electronic solicitation package that will be posted at https://www.fbo.gov/. Offerors are advised to periodically monitor the above website for updates concerning this procurement. This pre-solicitation notice does not obligate USAID/Malawi to release a solicitation or award a contract, nor does it commit the U.S. Government to pay for costs incurred in the preparation and submission of a proposal.
