- NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for purchase a Gulfstream G-III Aircraft to be used for parts. NASA JSC currently operates a G-III aircraft, Tail number N992NA, to support airborne science missions worldwide as well as provide a backup aircraft for the astronaut direct crew return mission. NASA JSC will part out the acquired Gulfstream G-III aircraft to support and repair aircraft tail number N992NA. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1(c), the brand name justification for purchasing a Gulfstream G-III aircraft will be posted with the solicitation. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 336411, Aircraft Manufacturing, and 1,500 employees, respectively. The release date of RFP 80JSC018Q0001 is on 12/21/2017 with an anticipated proposal due date of on or about 01/22/2018. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. The government is not obligated to award a contract as a result of the RFP. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/pub_library/Omb.html. All contractual and technical questions must be submitted in writing (via e-mail) to Alice Pursell (alice.j.pursell@nasa.gov) not later than 01/12/2018. Telephone questions will not be accepted. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
