- PRE SOLICITATION NOTICE This project will be announced as W912DR-18-B-0006. Project Description: Forebay Dredge System Modifications - Washington Aqueduct Division, Washington, DC 1. Project Description: The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Baltimore has a requirement to install mechanical grinders and an odor control system to the solids dewatering system. The work includes civil, structural, mechanical and electrical modifications to two facilities used to convey and process water treatment residual solids at the Washington Aqueduct. The main focus of the project is to install mechanical grinders to aid in the processing of river sediment and to install an odor control system to better handle odor issues associated the residuals treatment process. Hence, the project consists of providing all necessary electrical, mechanical, and related structural work to install up to five inline 25 Hp mechanical grinders, a pumping station wet well mixing pump and modifications to and commissioning of an electrically power floating cable dredge. The project also includes the installation of an activated carbon bed, odor control scrubber system, including all ductwork, structural modifications, hoisting, and blower details. There is also minor work related to the installation of roof drains, roof membrane, and concrete repairs to the structure. 2. The, North Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 237110 (Water and Sewer Line and Related Structures Construction) with a magnitude of construction between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. 3. The solicitation will be provided in an electronic format, free of charge on or about 16 January 2018, to all authenticated account holders registered with the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) System. Please note that all U.S. Army Corps of Engineers acquisitions are considered sensitive, but unclassified documents and require users to have valid MPIN entered in the FBO systems to access package. 4. The Government will issue this solicitation via FBO only. This solicitation will not be issued in paper. No phone or fax request for copy of solicitation will be accepted.
