NOTE: The use of RFI Number W56KGU-18-R-0005 is for tracking purposes only. S&TCD is seeking to develop an architecture for robust, resilient, flexible and affordable communications (voice and data) at the tactical edge in extreme radio frequency (RF) environments. The architecture includes smartphones providing secure communications over cellular (4G/LTE) and wireless LAN (WLAN, IEEE 802.11) networks. In addition to the 4G/LTE and WLAN networks S&TCD envisions small wearable radio modules that can easily pair to the smartphone. The modular radios enable inter-squad communications, enable squads to communicate laterally, and to higher echelons of command.
