Description
The U.S. Geological Survey National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL) located in Lakewood CO. intends to make a non-competitive award to Agilent Technologies, Inc. located in Reston VA. (NWQL) requires maintenance services for their Gas Chromatograph and High Performance Liquid Chromatograph with attached Mass Spectrometers (GC and LC-QQQ). This is a performance-based acquisition. Without these services, the NWQL would not be able to meet its mission requirement of processing and analyzing trace level analyses of water, soil, and tissue samples for local, regional, and national USGS projects. If the instrumentation is not maintained to manufacturer specifications it could lead to compromising data quality, a loss of data results, and the inability of the water science centers and participating cooperators to meet their mission objectives. This action will be for a new Federal Supply Schedule delivery order with an expected period of performance of a Base year plus Four (4) one year option periods. Agilent's Mass Hunter software, which is used in the Agilent instrumentation, is proprietary. Agilent programmers originated and solely maintain the software. This Statement of Work covers the requirements for full maintenance and software support for Agilent Technology's instrumentation owned by the National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL), located on the Denver Federal Center, Building 95, Lakewood, CO. This requirement also allows for the addition and deletion of instrumentation as required by the NWQL. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 8.405-6 Federal Supply Schedule. Interested parties may contact the Contract Specialist, cmetherd@usgs.gov before the closing date of this announcement January 27, 2018 1430 ET for additional information or to submit a capabilities statement. Capability statements will be evaluated solely to determine if competitive opportunities exist; quotations are not solicited at this time. The NAICS code for this action is 811219: Other electronic and precision equipment repair and maintenance for which the associated size standard is $20.5.
