- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue solicitation N00024-18-R-2317 for the accomplishment of a Post Shakedown Availability (PSA) for up to two (2) DDG 51 class guided missile destroyers. Based upon industry response to a formal Request for Information issued on 16 May 2017, NAVSEA's small business office concurs with the decision to not set aside the procurement. NAVSEA anticipates issuing the solicitation for full and open competition by April 2018. A PSA encompasses the correction of Government responsible trial card deficiencies, completion of new work identified between ship custody transfer and the start of PSA, and the incorporation of approved engineering changes and other work items that were not incorporated prior to delivery of the ship to the Navy. The subject procurement's requirements include the manpower, support services, material, facilities, and non-standard equipment (and associated technical data and documentation) required to accomplish work items, tests, and post repair sea trials encompassed by the PSA. The work is anticipated to be performed pier side at the ships homeport at Naval Station Mayport, Mayport, Florida. NOTE: This is a pre-solicitation notice intended to provide potential offerors with a summary of the subject procurement. This notice is for information only, is subject to modification, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to solicit contractual offers or award contracts. The Government is not responding to questions regarding this pre-solicitation notice at this time. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any questions submitted or information provided as a result of this notice. If a solicitation is issued in the future, it will be announced via the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and interested parties must comply with that announcement. Questions from potential offerors will be accepted after the solicitation is issued. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be provided or mailed. Interested offerors should monitor the identified website for updates to this procurement. Since this prospective solicitation, and any applicable amendments, will be issued electronically, the Government is under no obligation to maintain a bidder's mailing list.
