Description

SYNOPSIS This is a SOURCES SOUGHT announcement only. The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting a MARKET SURVEY to obtain information from all qualified businesses, with special interest in seeking: Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), and Small Business Concerns. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. No solicitation is being issued at this time. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any incurred in developing information provided to the Government. DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUIREMEMT The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center (CVAMC) located at 1826 Veterans Blvd, Dublin Georgia anticipates a requirement for Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Services. The contractor s LTAC facility shall be within a ninety (90) mile radius of the CVAMC. The contractor shall provide acute care for patients with complex needs and possible comorbid conditions requiring mechanical ventilation bed support, including Intravenous (IV) Infusion, Antibiotic Therapy, and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) support in an acute hospital setting as necessary. Services shall be provided by an interdisciplinary team of clinicians necessary for involvement in the Veteran s care and recovery. The LTAC facility shall provide effective ventilation bed and tracheostomy weaning services for Veterans recently transferred from a VA facility directly to the Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital with the intent to achieve liberation from mechanical ventilator through ventilator weaning in all cases possible within the average and reasonable time frame (herein referred to as population one). The LTAC facility shall also provide long-term ventilation bed and tracheostomy services for Veterans transferred from the VA facility to the LTAC facility. The contractor shall also provide the services for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) patients needing vent care. The LTAC facility shall provide all comprehensive care, needed by the Veteran in accordance with its accredited organization s standards. If a determination is made by the contractor and Contracting Officer s Representative (COR) that weaning shall not be effective for those patients initially deemed wean-able, the contractor shall assist with coordination of efforts to transfer patient to a long-term care facility or continue long-term ventilation bed and tracheostomy services for the Veteran. Responses should be received no later than 4:00 PM EST. NO CAPABILITY STATEMENTS MAY BE SUBMITTED AFTER February 8, 2018. AT THIS TIME NO SOLICITATION EXISTS. (DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION).
