- This is a total small business set-a-side combined synopsis/solicitation. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for services to dry-dock, inspect and repair the U.S. Geological Survey vessel David H. Peterson. The vessel is a 64 ¿ aluminum catamaran with a 24 ¿ beam; 45 gross tons. The vessel will not move beyond the vicinity of the San Francisco Bay. The proposed action will be awarded in accordance with FAR part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This combined synopsis/solicitation for a firm fixed price commercial service contract is prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will be issued. The solicitation number is 140G0318Q003 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-96, effective 06 November 2017. Please see solicitation with CLINS, technical specifications, provisions, and clauses. All questions pertaining to this solicitation must be submitted to the Contracting Officer by 3:00pm ET on February 6, 2018. Quotations are due no later than 3:00pm ET on February 13, 2018. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract on or about February 15, 2018. Site Visit - The vessel is located in the Port of Redwood City CA. A site visit is highly encouraged and is scheduled for February 5th and 6th between 0700am-3:00pm with prior notice. Please call 650-400-2861 to make an appointment. NOTE: All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary - the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Materials submitted to the Government for review will not be returned. It is the responsibility of all interested parties to check back periodically for any amendments to the synopsis or solicitation. In order to comply with the debt collection improvement act of 1966, all contractors must be registered and have an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be considered for an award of a federal contract.
