Description
This amendment is being posted to answer questions received by potential offeror. Questions and answer can be found below. Question: I cam across this bid and had a few questions on it. First, would we be able to use a comparable TLD badge to the Mirion one being asked for? Also, what is the wear period time frame for the badges? In most bids I have seen it specifies if it is a Monthly or Quarterly service do you know what type of service this is for? Also, is the total of 3720 over the 60 months? Answer: Features and Technical Specification that are our minimum requirement: Apex Dosimeter(OSL): Re-readability to verify dose in case a re-evaluation is needed. Easy to wear Slim form factor: 2.8 x 1.6 Enhanced label Rotational clip Wear periods from one week to one year Permanently bar-coded for user identification and tracking Whole-body, wrist and area monitoring configurations         Technical Specifications:   Apex Dosimeter Description :                                                                            2 element beryllium oxide (BeO) Badge Type 30 =                                                            Beryllium oxide Holder Type BP=                                                            Blister pack Accreditations/Approvals/Licenses:     NVLAP (Code: 100555-0) Minimum Reportable Dose:                            5 mrem (0.05 mSv) Useful Dose Range:                                                  5 mrem - 1000 rem (0.05 mSv - 10 Sv) Energy Response:                                                      Beta 0.565 MeV 5 MeV                                                                                                                  Photon 12 keV - 7 MeV Extremity Dosimeters: Rings Technical Specifications : Ultra Rings Description: Single chip of nLiF:Mg, Ti (TLD100 loose chip) Holder Type/Sizes : Ultra Ring: HS= Small size 6-8; red HM= Medium size 7-9; black HL= Large size 10-14; blue Accreditations/Approvals/ Licenses: Ultra Ring: NVLAP (Code: 100555-0) CNSC (Canada)   Minimum Reportable Dose : 20 mrem (0.20 mSv) Useful Dose Range: 20 mrem - 1000 rem (0.20 mSv - 10 Sv) Energy Response : Ultra Ring:     Beta 0.251 MeV - 5 MeV                                        Photon 20 keV - 6 MeV   We require a monthly service. 3720 is the average number of badges per year that is approximately 310 badges per month (240 Rings per year that is 20 rings per month). These are approximate numbers. From our past experience in the summer we have more wearers and we will request an increased number of badges/rings and in the winter we request less badges/rings due to a decrease in the number of wearers. The vendor should be able to respond to our needs in a timely manner so we meet our NRC/NHPP requirements. We will pay for the service according to the monthly invoices we receive. In case the contract is awarded to a vendor other than the previous one we are not responsible for paying for the data transferring fee. That has to be done free of charge for us. Another very important request we have is: we don t accept to work with a middleman. We request a direct contract with a direct Supplier like Mirion or Landauer.
