Description
THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Program Executive Officer Land Systems (PEO-LS), Marine Corps, Quantico, VA 22134 intends to issue a request for proposals on a full and open competition basis. This effort is estimated for award in the third quarter Fiscal Year 2018 with an approximate period of performance of 36 months. The ordering period is 3 years with one (1) base year with two (2) one year ordering periods. The anticipated contract type is a firm fixed price. The anticipated contract is for the installation on Government furnished Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Cougar Category I (4x4) and Category II (6x6) vehicles of new electro-hydraulic assisted doors, internal spall armor panels, and additional internal mounting brackets for battery/controller placement. The requirement also includes the replacement of the rear steps with new steps; and the rerouting of the external exhaust pipe on these vehicles. This Egress upgrade requires disassembly, welding, cutting, grinding, and crack repair of high hard steel armor, painting in accordance with military specifications for Chemical Agent Resistant Coating (CARC) paint, integration, re-assembly, and functional testing, as well as the labor, facilities, heavy lift capability, proper welding certifications, support equipment, and materials necessary to perform these installations. These installations and upgrades are anticipated to be required for 1,687 Cougar vehicles. This pre-solicitation notice is for information and planning purposes only and does not contain the final Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government intends to release a final RFP in the near future, leading to full and open competition under the authority of 10 USC 2304(a) and in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 15. Upon posting of the final RFP to this website, proposals will be due within 30 calendar days. Offerors are instructed to hold all questions until the solicitation has been issued. Any subsequent procurement notifications will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website at https://www.fbo.gov/. All interested offeror(s) are encouraged to register on the FBO website to receive email notifications when information related to this acquisition is updated, or documents related to this acquisition are issued and available for download. The Government requests that all interested parties ensure that they are listed on the "Interested Vendors List" in FBO. As a rule, the Government will not send notifications directly to interested offeror(s), and it is recommended that the interested offeror(s) periodically check this website for updates. It is recommended that interested offerors check this website frequently for any updates. The information provided herein is subject to change and is not binding on the USG.
