Description
PLEASE NOTE CHANGES AS OF 1/31/2018 - 0910 EST Industry Day Announcement The U.S. Army will sponsor a Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) - Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium (DOTC) Industry Day tentatively scheduled for 27-28 February 2018 in Huntsville, AL. The LTAMDS prototype development and demonstration will be conducted as part of a Technology Maturation Risk Reduction (TMRR) program that includes relevant TMRR design reviews to include a System Requirements Review (SRR), System Functional Review (SFR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and a demonstration of the LTAMDS integrated prototype. The objectives for the TMRR phase of the program will be discussed in detail during the industry day; however, primary focus of this phase will include mature radar technologies that allow prototype demonstrations of Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 or more at the component, subsystem, and integrated prototype levels. The LTAMDS integrated prototype will require incorporation of advanced radar technologies to include an open system architecture. Technologies incorporated into LTAMDS should consider power, cooling, transportability, reliability, obsolescence, and affordability. The prototype LTAMDS radar must be interoperable with Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense (AIAMD) Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) command / control and PATRIOT Advanced Capability - 3 (PAC-3) class of interceptors, and meet the performance requirements as defined in the LTAMDS performance specification. The Government intends to use the DOTC OTA to potentially fund up to three (3) vendors for TMRR beginning in FY18 and beyond. The expected prototype deliverable quantity is one (1) demonstration report per technology selected. The feasibility of the prototype will be demonstrated and tested by the Contractor and witnessed by the Government. The prototype is applicable to the U.S. LTAMDS program and will be a component of the AIAMD System of Systems architecture. The goal of the industry day are to 1) familiarize participants with the performance requirements, 2) identify potential offerors and promote understanding of the OTA proposal requirements, and 3) provide vendors and government personnel an opportunity for one-on-one performance requirements discussions and how they relate to potential design solutions. Registration All interested parties are required to submit visit requests for this event. Industry Day will be held at 345 Bob Heath Drive, Huntsville, Alabama. The tentative agenda for the technology exchange follows and will be adjusted based on participation responses: • Day 1, 27 Feb (0900-1600): o DOTC/National Armaments Consortium (NAC) Overview o DOTC Annual Cycle o AIAMD and LTAMDS Mission Overview o Networking Lunch o LTAMDS Program Overview o LTAMDS TMRR Selection Criteria o Industry and Government team One-on-Ones. • Day 2, 28 Feb (0900-1700): o Industry and Government team One-on-Ones. (If needed) One-on-One discussions will provide vendors and Government personnel an opportunity to discuss vendor RFI responses and applicable technologies. This will also provide vendors an opportunity to discuss their intent to participate in the demonstration along with information (form factor, features, expected performance, and launching approach) related the missile platform proposed for use in the demonstration. One-on-one discussions will be limited to one hour. Vendors must submit their presentations electronically to the Point of Contact (POC), Karen Potter, 256-955-5413, karen.m.potter.civ@mail.mil (AMRDEC SAFE is Acceptable) by COB 20 February 2018.
