- Description
- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Research and Development, National Homeland Security Research Center, located in Durham, North Carolina, intends to procure one (1) unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). This acquisition will be subject to full and open competition and will be processed in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333924 with a small business size standard of 750 employees. The minimum specifications will describe the design, function, and performance requirements for the one (1) UGV required by the U.S. EPA. The UGV will be used for maneuvering instruments into environments that have potential hazard for personnel. The UGV will be remotely controlled, guided by sight, GPS waypoints, and real time video camera. The environment will be outdoor fires such as prescribed burns of forests and grasslands as well as potentially contaminated indoor sites. The UGV will be used to transport existing sensors and samplers. The contractor shall include a minimum one-year warranty on the UGV. Award will be made on a ¿Lowest Price, Technically Acceptable ¿ basis. The solicitation with the required minimum specifications will be issued on or about February 16, 2018. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
