Page 1 of 1 36C256-18-Q-0288 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Medtronic Fusion Navigation System Maintenance The Department of Veterans Affairs, Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS), 2400 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119, intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with Medtronic to maintain (Qty 1) Medtronic Fusion Navigation System for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for the Base Year 4/1/18-3/31/19 plus 4 Option Years. Medtronic requires that the systems are not tampered with, altered, serviced, or modified (including the loading of additional software) by a party other than an authorized representative of Medtronic, as this could render the systems unsafe or ineffective for their intended use. This presents a compelling need to continue this procurement with the current vendor. The Government believes that only one business can satisfy the agency requirements and intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Other vendors may identify their interest and capability by responding to this by Friday, February 9, 2018 at 5PM CST. Such capabilities information will be used solely to determine whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.  All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government.   A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
