- Description
- This notice serves as an announcement of the Government's intent to pursue the requirement for a Service Agreement Warranty Package for the Fitness Access (FA) system at all Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) fitness center locations as a sole source acquisition. This acquisition is on a sole source basis because it is the only practicable option for the Government. The contractor awarded the contract for supply of the equipment used in the FA system is the only approved vendor for the certified FA system and the only authorized vendor for maintenance and repair requirements. The current FA system has been certified by AFPEO C31&N CTO which gave AFSVA/SVO the authority to operate the AF FA system at any installation. No modifications or substitutions may be made to the system equipment, as it is the only equipment authorized for use in the FA system. For these reasons, the contractor awarded the original contract for the FA system, is the only source capable of providing the services for this requirement. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, SMARTNET INC., under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability of fulfilling this requirement, or interested parties may submit quotes/offers. This notice of intent is neither a request for competitive quotes nor a solicitation for offers. However, all quotes/offers for the Service Agreement Warranty Package for the FA system received by the closing date and time of this Notice of Intent will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any interested party may inquire with the below point of contact:
