- Sources Sought including Diagram of Specs (1) Action Code :SOURCES SOUGHT This is a Sources Sought Notice only. This is not a request for proposal, but a survey to locate potential sources. This Sources Sought does not constitute an Invitation for Bids, Request for Proposals, or a Request for Quotations, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue an order or otherwise pay for the information solicited, nor is it a guarantee of a forthcoming solicitation or contract. It is for market research purposes only. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities, and qualifications of various members of industry, to include the Small Business Community: Small Business, Section 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUB-Zone), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB). Objective: To find sources that are qualified to meet the supplies/services as listed in section 11B. Note that the specific requirements in section C are subject to change prior to the release of any solicitation. B. The Contractor shall deliver the following fourteen (14) diamond anvils, in accordance with figure 1 and specifications below to Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG), Aberdeen, MD: Figure 1: Note: Girdle Diameter of 3.5 millimeter indicated as "X" below (SEE ATTACHMENT FOR SPECIFICATIONS) CLIN 0001: Diamond Anvils 300 micron cutlets The Contractor shall provide ten (10) diamond anvils, in accordance with the figure 1 above and specifications below: •Type Ia, defined as maximum of 0.3%. nitrogen impurities. •Shall have a 300 micron culet ± ten (10) microns with culets of matched pairs within five (5) microns of each other. •Cut in Drukker Standard Design as outlined in the following specifications: oParallelism shall be < 0.1 degree (six (6) arc minutes) oOrientation of [100] axis to culet shall be as close as possible oThe culet shall be free of polishing lines •The anvils shall be sixteen (16) sided. •Shall have a Girdle Diameter of 3.5 millimeter (indicated as "X" in the figure), crown height of 0.35 millimeter (0.1X), girdle thickness of 0.7 millimeter (0.2X) and pavilion depth of 1.4 millimeter (0.4X). •Shall have Raman low fluorescence ( The intensity of the background fluorescence of diamond at 1000 wavenumbers relative to the intensity of single phonon Raman transition at 1332 wavenumbers is less than 0.5 percent) •Shall have a birefringence of less than 0.0001.
