- Notice Type: Special Notice Title: Notice of Intent for A-29 Afghanistan Follow-On Contract Solicitation Number: FA8637-2018-A29 Synopsis: The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio contemplates the award of a contract with the Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), 444 Salomon Circle, Sparks, NV 89434-9651, to acquire A-29 aircraft and associated support for the Afghanistan Air Force (AAF) as part of the Building Partnership Capacity (BPC) program with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA). This will result in procurement of A-29 aircraft, modification, sustainment, and logistics support at CONUS and OCONUS locations. The period of performance is anticipated to be from January 2019 through December 2024. The award contemplated is planned to be pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) or 41 U.S.C 3304 (a)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). Services have been deemed to be available only from the original source in the case of a follow-on contract for the continued provision of highly specialized supplies and services due to an established exclusivity agreement between SNC and Embraer (Original Equipment Manufacturer). This exclusivity agreement between SNC and Embraer is a working arrangement for procurement of A-29 aircraft, modifications, sustainment, and logistics support at CONUS and OCONUS locations. Any industry representatives who have new or additional information regarding capacity to perform in accordance with the above shall be submitted to Mr. David Timko (david.timko.1@us.af.mil) on or before 15 February 2018, 900 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
