- COMBO SYNOPSIS-SOLICITATION FOR COMMERICAL PURCHASES EVALUATION CRITERIA - LPTA SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS The Contractor shall deliver One (1) Precision Polishing System to Aberdeen Proving Grounds with the following minimum requirements: - 8 Inch (in.) Platen - Alignment and calibration equipment - Variable speeds of Five (5) Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) – 300 RPM with digital control - Minimum 0.5 Horsepower (HP) motor - One (1) micron resolution on reading of material removal - Cam locking system for holding the sample fixture - Minimum Sample load of range of 0 to 400 grams. - Rotation and oscillation on the cam head to ensure uniform polishing - Platen for mounting films and discs - Parallel Polishing sample mounts of 50-60 millimeters (mm) and 70-100 mm - Diamond lapping films in 60 – 0.25 micron – minimum of 5 each (sizes: 60, 35, 15, 6, 3, 1, 0.25 micron) - Diamond abrasive discs, QTY One (1) of each of the following sizes: 260, 125, 70, 30, 15 micron) - Silicon carbide abrasive discs in grits 180, 320, 600, 1200 (min 50 each) - Storage cabinet for platens and polishing filims.
