- NOTIFICATION OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE Fair Measures Respectful Workplace Workshop This delivery of a comprehensive training program that is unique to the work environment issues that are currently being addressed by the USDA Forest Service, and that meets the needs of Region 6, Region 10, and the Pacific Northwest Research Stations. Instructors are seasoned attorneys, experienced trainers, and skilled facilitators. This training will be delivered as a pilot for the Pacific Northwest Civil Rights Service Center, beginning with Region 6. There will be two half-day sessions held per day, at 18 locations within Region 6 during the second and third quarters of fiscal year 2018. There will be separate session for managers/supervisors, and separate session for non-supervisors. Dates may be extended in the event that cancellations occur due to inclement weather or other unforeseeable circumstances. Training incorporates organizational values to facilitate the process of creating a respectable workplace for all, as well as including the following topics: *The causes of harassment, discrimination, retaliation and workplace bullying *Why most harassment and disrespect are unintentional *the legal definition of harassment, discrimination and retaliation *Your organization's policies and procedures *How to apply the law and policy to specific case examples *The manager's duty to prevent harassment and abusive conduct *How to address unconscious bias and micro-aggressions *The manager's duty upon receiving a complaint *Legal remedies available to victims *How to communicate boundaries and listen to others with respect *Guidelines for creating a respectful workplace The training is highly engaging with video vignettes, case studies and group exercises and includes a comprehensive workbook for each participant, review of your policies regarding harassment and discrimination.
