- NASA/NSSC has a requirement for SIC printing technical services, the purpose of this work is to support the 3D printing process for a GSFC IRAD. Technology Assessment and Transfer is the leader in the industry for printing ceramics and will work with GSFC to develop 3D printing of Silicon Carbide. LIST OF TASK: This SOW with support (1) Debinding Study Fabricate CSL SiC samples for debinding trial Run TGA/DSC to define debinding schedule Test different ramp rates Deliver summary report documenting samples fabricated (2) Sintering Fabricate samples for sintering study Run Dilatometry Deliver summary report Deliverables: Bi-weekly status review with our team Deliver debinding summary report documenting samples Deliver sintering summary report Work Schedule: Bi-weekly status review with our team Deliver debinding summary report documenting samples in April 2018 Deliver sintering summary report in May 2018 The estimated period of performance or lead-time for delivery is May 31, 2018. NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to Technology Assessment & Transfer, 133 Defense Highway, Suite 212 Annapolis, Maryland 21401, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). It has been determined that Technology Assessment & Transfer is the leading company in ceramic 3D printing. Ceramic printing is an exotic process and they are the only complay that has flown ceramic parts. NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) The Government intends to acquire commercial items and services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541715. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on March 9, 2018. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
