- Description
- Notice of Intent to Sole Source: VASERlipo Liposuction System The Department of Veterans SAO West, Network Contracting Office 19, located at 6162 South Willow Drive Suite 300, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 intends to enter into sole source purchase order agreement authorized by FAR 13.106- 1(b), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to the small business manufacturer, Solta Medical, Inc., located at 7031 Koll Center Pkwy. Ste. 260, Pleasanton, California 94566. The associated North America Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 334510 and the Business Size Standard is 1,250 employees. The contractor shall provide the VASERlipo System, a minimally invasive ultrasound, liposuction system used to eliminate fat cells from many areas of the body on Veterans being treated at Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center (RMRVAMC) in Aurora, Colorado. The VASERlipo Liposuction System from Solta Medical, Inc. is the only system that uses an ultrasound energy, specifically tuned to preserve connective tissue and maintain fat cell viability for fat transfer/grafting procedures. The use of ultrasound to pretreat the fat means a reduction of blood loss, compared to not using ultrasound, and for the patient, meaning less pain and faster recovery. This pretreatment also means better condition of fat for grafting as more will re-vascularize. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the U.S. Government. Interested persons may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, Tuesday, March 13th, 2018.
