- J&A The Department of Labor, Mine Safety & Health Administration, intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 - For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. (i) Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g. urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization), to Eastman Kodak Company, 343 State Street, Rochester, NY 14650-0558, for maintenance of its Kodak Nexpress Digital 2500 Color Press with digital front end support (unlimited impressions) for Serial #K4195-2391, Kodak Press Service Plan, Kodak I 1440 Scanner, and Kodak NEX Glosser for Serial # K4195-2394 located at US Dept of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration, National Mine Academy, 1301 Airport Road, Beaver, WV 25813. MSHA requires that the maintenance plan to ensure that the presses operate consistently without breakdowns or undue downtime due to equipment failure. This equipment is essential for producing training materials used by MSHA and the mining industry. This action will result in a firm fixed price contract. The period of performance will commence on or about March 25, 2018 for a twelve (12) month period ending on or about March 24, 2019. The NAICS code for this requirement is 811212 with a size standard of $27.5. This Notice of Intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for competitive proposals. There is no solicitation document. No RFP will be available for competitive proposals. Phone calls will not be accepted.
