- This requirement is to procure commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) pRFID equipment through the establishment of an Indefinite Delivery/ Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract in support of four naval shipyards. The list of equipment to be procured identifies several brands; however, only the Impinj equipment is being pursued on a brand name basis. All other equipment will be procured as "brand name or equal". Period of Performance will be one three-year base period, with dates approximately 15 April 2018 - 14 April 2021. We received the following questions: Question: The solicitation indicates that the maximum contract ceiling amount is $9,957,719 over 3 years. The solicitation requests quotes for 525 Indoor pRFID kits and 390 Outdoor pRFID kits, as well as large numbers of the individual components to each of those kits. My understanding of the solicitation is that the total amount quoted may be beyond the ceiling amount for all of the items on the solicitation. For example, the sum of all of the items quoted in the volumes requested could be more than the $9,957, 719, particularly since the amount is to include shipping and is to be a firm fixed price for 3 years. My assumption is that the yards would just purchase what they need up to the ceiling. But I would like your clarification on this point, please. Answer: Yes, please quote your delivered price of all items listed regardless if it goes over the maximum contract ceiling amount of $9,957,719. Also, I am assuming that this contract will be awarded to a single supplier, and not awarded line by line to multiple distributors? Answer: Yes, this will be a single award.
