- **********PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE********** The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to solicit bids for a supply contract to fabricate and deliver structural steel assemblies, commonly referred to as "lifting beams" for use in lifting and placing stoplogs in the navigation locks on the St. Marys River, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Two assemblies will be procured under a single contract. The solicitation will be issued as an Invitation for Bids in March 2018, with a 30-day response time. It is intended that a contract will be awarded by early May 2018, with complete fabrication and delivery by early December 2018. Specific calendar dates will be included in the solicitation. The solicitation package will include drawings and specifications. The package will be available only electronically via FedBizOpps at www.fbo.gov. Requests for solicitation packages made by telephone, fax, or email will not be honored, as contractors must download the documents through the FedBizOpps website. The Government intends to issue a single, FIRM FIXED PRICE contract. This supply procurement is 100% set aside for small business. The North American Industrial Classification System Code for this requirement is 332312 - Fabricated Structural Metal Manufacturing. The Small Business Size Standard for this NAICS Code is 500 or fewer personnel. Registration in the Government's System for Award Management (SAM) is a requirement for consideration and award of a contract. Contractors can access SAM for free at www.SAM.gov.
