Questions submitted directly to other National Park Service personnel or through FedConnect are not guaranteed to be answered or correctly answered. This third amendment to the Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to: I) Answer prospective bidder's questions: Q1. Section 4.0 Task #2 new work G. Pour 3" concrete over galvanized metal decking. Please Confirm. A1. Confirmed per Scope of Work. Q2. Install 2 layers of Polyisocyanurate insulation. What thickness for each layer and what R value total? A2. (2) layers of 2" [LTTR 11.4 ea] polyiso with Long Term Thermal Resistance (LTTR) 22.8 Q3. Usually Warrantee is 20 years on Metal materials against fading and or shifting. 2 Year workman warrantee. You are asking for 10 years on Workmanship. Please clarify. A3. No; Rehabilitation/replacement of mechanical fans at roof ventilators are not in the contract. Q4. EPDM Roofing is not specified. Based on your required 15-20 year, we are assuming 60 mil. Please clarify EPDM. A4. Use 60 mil. Q5. Asbestos 9X9 Removals Bldg. 409? We were told no removals. A5. Work is limited to roof, exterior walls and windows. Hazardous materials in the roof may exist. Paint on walls and windows may contain lead. Interiors finishes will not be disturbed. Q6. Revere metal specifications under 4.0 item 3. Ventilators section J. Metal specs are not accurate according to the manufacturer. Please clarify Stainless steel and bi products. A6. Ventilators and historic roof elements shall be replicated with "Freedom Gray: REVERE T-Z Alloy Coated Copper or equal (generically - terne coated copper). II) Provide technical clarifications: C1. The goal of this project is to return each building to a water-tight condition, correct the effects of water and weather deterioration and perform needed maintenance to ensure long-term stability. C2. Refinished and repaint undamaged louvered wall vents. Wall vents with damaged vanes may be repaired if practical, or replaced in kind. C3. Window and door frames will be inspected and repaired if necessary with water, termite and salt resistant materials. C4. Paint all surfaces to match existing. C5. Generator Trailers on either side of Bldg 410 cannot not be moved. C6. No electric or water is available at the project site. C7. Interior fans at the roof ventilators shall remain unaltered and shall not be returned to a functioning condition by the contractor. However, the roof ventilators will be replicated/restored and replaced in their original locations. C.8. Replace the steel lintels in building 409 located at the interior doors to the generator trailer Building 409 - remove and discard ductwork and aluminum acoustical tile grid. III) Extend the due date of the bids from 03/20/2018 to 2:00pm ET on 03/22/2018. [Electronic Bids will be rejected for nonresponsiveness].
