Description

The National Institute for Occupation Safety and Health (NIOSH) located at 4676 Columbia Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio has a requirement for the following instrument: Mass Spectrometer. The following measurement capabilities are needed to advance state-of-the-art in workplace air monitoring at NIOSH/DART/CEMB: i) Ability to simultaneously analyze multiple analytes in the m/z range 1-3000 with high sensitivity and high specificity, ii) ability to measure all analytes in less than 100 ms to capture highly transient peak exposures, iii) allow in-situ measurement of workplace air. These capabilities will significantly improve the program's capability to: i) effectively detect and mitigate hazardous chemicals in workplace air, and ii) conduct meaningful workplace exposure studies in challenging cases where routine industrial hygiene sampling/analysis can not be used. The equipment will be installed in the NIOSH Alice Hamilton Laboratory at 5555 Ridge Avenue in Cincinnati OH 45213.
