Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to issue sole-source one-time procurement for a temporary external pacemaker, Medtronic Model 5392 for the Birmingham VA Medical Center, 700 S. 19th Street, Birmingham, AL 35223. A sole-source procurement will be issued to Medtronic USA, Inc. because they are the only vendor capable of providing product features, the staff is trained, and a rebate for the pacemakers to be returned. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 and 13.106-1(b)(2), "soliciting from a single source." The NAICS code is 334510 Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing and has a size standard of 1250 employees for this procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit quotations no later than 1:00pm EST, Apr 10, 2018 to: Margaret.Yeaton@va.gov. Responses received may be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. After a review of the responses received, a pre-solicitation synopsis and solicitation may be published in GSA eBUY or FBO. However, responses to this notice will not be considered adequate responses to a solicitation. Determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
