Description

NOTICE OF INTENET TO SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract to Emergent Product Development Gaithersburg Inc. The Government intends to purchase 1,617,600 vials of ACAM 2000 Diluent as an ancillary component of the Food And Drug Administration (FDA) licensed ACAM2000 Smallpox Vaccine, by June 30, 2018 with a period of performance of 1 year. Emergent Product Development Gaithersburg Inc. is the only FDA licensed provider of the ACAM 2000 diluent for the ACAM2000 Smallpox Vaccine and therefore is the only source capable to provide this requirement to the Government. Emergent Product Development Gaithersburg Inc.'s manufacturing processes have been validated and are approved by the FDA, (STN 125158, License #1815). The Government intends to negotiate this requirement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. It is the Government's belief that only one responsible source exists and no other product or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement. All responses must be received by May 1, 2018 at 8AM Eastern Standard Time. All responses must be in writing and can be sent via email to srandall@cdc.gov. No phone calls will be accepted.
