- A market survey is being conducted to determine if there are a reasonable number of interested small business concerns to set this future project aside for them. If your firm is a Small Business, certified HUBZone, 8A, Woman-Owned Small Business or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business and you are interested in this project please respond appropriately. The proposed project is to Fabricate and Supply a set of painted miter gates (2 leaves) and associated equipment including strut arm, anchorage arms, seals, contact blocks, walkway bridge, handrails, and shipping by barge to the McAlpine Locks and Dam, Louisville, KY. Option would include a second set of miter gates (2 leaves) and associated equipment. Each leaf is 62'-0" wide, 54" deep, approximately 55'-0" tall (from centerline of girder 1 to centerline of girder 14), and weighing approximately 250 tons. The paint system will be vinyl paint. The fabricated miter gates shall be shipped as complete leaves either laid flat or stood upright on a barge by river to Louisville, KY. Contract duration is estimated at 18 - 24 months for base contract; 12 - 18 additional months optional for 2nd set of gates. NAICS code is 332312. All interested Small Businesses, certified HUBZONE, 8A, Woman-Owned Small Businesses or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business contractors should respond to this survey by email on 25 April 2018 by 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. Responses should include: 1. Identification and verification of the company's small business status. 2. Contractor's Unique Identifier Number and CAGE Code(s). 3. Descriptions of Experience - Interested construction firms must provide no more than three (3) example projects with either greater than 95 percent completion or projects completed in the past five (5) years where the interested firm served as the prime contractor. Each project must include the name, title, project role, e-mail address, and telephone number of at least one reference. References may be used to verify project size, scope, dollar value, percentages and quality of performance. Example projects must be of similar size and scope. a. Projects similar in scope to this project include: Large lock/dam/bridge structural steel fabrication projects with strict tolerances weighing over 200 tons; large structural steel projects utilizing vinyl paint; large gates and frames shipped by way of river barge. b. Projects similar in size to this project include: miter gates, tainter gates, steel bridges, large bulkheads, and large sluice gates weighing over 200 tons c. Based on the information above, for each project submitted, include: 1. Current percentage of fabrication complete and the date when it was or will be completed. 2. Scope of the project. 3. Type of fabrication or framing system; girders, horizontally framed, etc. 4. Size of the project. 5. Weight of the project. 6. The portion and percentage of the project that was self-performed. 7. Type of paint system used. 8. Shipping system and means/methods utilized. NOTE: Total submittal package shall be no longer than 8 pages.
