Description
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions. Sources sought for: Diamond-based electron beam loss detectors SLAC National Lab is seeking sources for diamond-based electron beam loss detectors. The diamond-based electron beam loss detectors shall have a single-crystal chemical vapor-deposited diamond (sCVD) sensor element. The device shall be capable of measuring radiation fields pulsed from 1 Hz up to 1 MHz with 10 nanosecond resolution. The bias network in the detector shall include sufficient capacitance to support an occasional output train of 100 1-nC pulses at rates up to 1 MHz without signal droop, thereby extending the dynamic range and ensuring linearity, to compensate for detector discharging. The detector will be operated in an environment exposed to high levels of background RF (L band, S band, and X band) and therefore shall be packaged inside of a radiofrequency shielding enclosure. The detector must survive an integrated radiation dose of at least 1 MGy and have connector compatible with long-term exposure to high radiation fields. Radiation-suitable materials must be used in connectors (this precludes the use of Teflon). The detector output signal shall have a responsivity higher than 0.2 fC per minimum ionizing particle. Quantity: 95 - 185 Please propose cost and delivery schedule for: Case A- quantity 95 Case B- quantity 185
