Description
Project plans Region 10 Acquisition Management, 709 W 9th Street, Juneau AK 99801-1807, is posting this pre-solicitation notice, in accordance with FAR 5.201, for the Aquatic Organism Passage (AOP) Culvert construction 2050050 Mile Post (MP) 0.82 project on the Tongass National Forest, Thorne Bay Ranger District. The proposed solicitation number for this requirement is 12010918R0006. Project removes and disposes of existing 108" diameter corrugated metal pipe (CMP). Rock excavation - blasting or hydraulic breaking is required. Furnish and install a 168"diameter x 56' corrugated steel pipe (CSP). Reconstruct streambed and banks immediately up and downstream. Reestablish road prism. Work includes: Dewatering, excavation, rock excavation, installation of structures, borrow material from nearby quarry for material, haul, reconstructing streambed and banks with instream rock structures, backfill, and soil erosion control. Work in stream is restricted to June 15th thru September 1st. Due to other contracts in the area on site work in 2018 site cannot begin until after July 4, 2018. Period of performance ends September 2, 2019. Magnitude of Construction is estimated between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The NAICS code for this requirement is 237310 Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction. The size standard to be considered a small business is $36.5 million dollars. A size standard is the largest that a concern can be and still qualify as a small business for Federal Government programs. For the most part, size standards are the average annual receipts or the average employment of a firm. The Forest Service anticipates release of the solicitation documents within 15 - 30 days of posting of this pre-solicitation notice. Proposals will be due within 30 days of release of the solicitation. Do not submit questions until solicitation is issued.
