- Description
- Cloud Droplet Probe (CDP) Description: Provides data during flight of Towed Airborne Plume Simulator (TAPS) to assess cloud water droplets in support of missile warning systems. Below are some specifications of the current Cloud Droplet Probe: • Measures concentration and size distribution of cloud droplets • Measure droplets in the size range: 2 - 50 µm • Measure Concentration Range: 0-2,000 particles /CC • Number of size bins: 25 or more • Minimum sampling rate: at least 10 sample/second • Power Requirements: 28 VDC, up to 15 A • Measurement instrument(s) capable of installation on aircraft exterior and operation at altitudes from 1,000 - 15,000 ft AGL (above ground level) and airspeeds of up to 350 knots IAS (indicated airspeed). Airworthiness certification capable. • Turnkey solution to include measurement instrument(s), associated control computer(s), and software (operating system and product application software) • Delivered with supporting operation, maintenance, and user documentation THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This sources sought does not constitute an invitation for Bids, Request for Proposals, nor Request for Quotations and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government to issue a contract or otherwise pay for the information requested. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to identify businesses having the capability to provide a Cloud Droplet Probe (CDP) that can be mounted and integrated into the airplane wiring and data system. In response to this notice, please address the following: 1. Describe your company's experience manufacturing/providing CDP. Include a brief description of the work performed or product delivered dates, and agency/organization supported. 2. For this requirement, what do you consider are the most critical criteria that would distinguish your company's capabilities from/over another? Please explain. 3. Do you have CDP Airworthiness Certification? 4. What lead time would be required for delivery of the CDP? All responses should be emailed to the attention of Mr. Richard Schleicher at richard.schleicher.1@us.af.mil and should be provided no later than 2:00 PM CDT on 4 May 2018.
