Description
The Lethal Mechanisms Branch, Weapons and Materials Research Directorate (WMRD) of The Army Research Laboratory (ARL) requires one (1) multi-anode flash X-ray tube (MAT) that meets the following specifications: 1. The MAT shall offer remote operation of flash X-ray sources. 2. Must be compatible with the L3 Technologies 150 kilovolt (kV) Pulserad flash X-ray pulsers, cable and connector assembly 3. Utilize at least eight (8) each of 1 millimeter (mm) spot size anodes per MAT. 4. Each 1 millimeter spot size anode shall be arranged in a single plate and be equally spaced about the circumference of a circle with a diameter of between 65 and 75 mm. 5. The MAT is required to have a demountable design in which the anode and/or the full anode/cathode assembly can be replaced by the user. Factory made sealed diode assemblies shall not be used in this head. 6. The MAT shall be supplied with all vacuum pumps required to operate the system. The vacuum system shall operate on either 120 volt (V) or 240 V and 60 hertz (Hz). 7. The MAT shall be supplied with 24 each of the anode assemblies and 12 each of the diode assemblies for refurbishing the MAT. 8. The government shall have the option of purchasing a MAT with 12 each of 1 mm spot size heads arranged in a single plane equally spaced about the circumference of a circle with a diameter between 100 and 110 mm.
