- An amendment is being made to update requirement descriptions under (VI) of the solicitation. Final Descriptions are as follows: Weather proof container with an integrated loading ramp and removable top cover; pods travel from coast to coast on average of 4 times a year. They must be durable enough to withstand commercial shipping conditions, i.e. being loaded and unloaded on trucks or airplanes and between vehicles. Must also be durable enough to withstand being moved by forklifts or pallet jacks without damaging the containers in the process. These containers are typically stored outdoors and regularly subjected to high winds, 100+ degree weather, rain, snow and mud. Hand locking fasteners Upper corner guide tabs for safe stacking Internal anchor points for stabilizing internal cargo: (Pod [575 lb. Max Wt.] + Stand ~ [200 lb.+] ~ 11.5 Ft. lg. Vertical CG ~ 40 in. above ground) Safely stackable to at least 3 units high Capable of safely storing and transporting 1100 lbs. Built-in ramp to load and unload pod (Pod/Stand ~11.5 Ft. Lg. rolls on six 8.5 in. diameter pneumatic wheels; three at each end) Provisions for safe use with a forklift, crane and pallet jack Reusable (Min. life = 10 years) As light as possible, but rugged enough for 4 cross-country trips per year. Have quick secure access requiring no special tools (if any at all) to open or close The inside dimensions should be: 139 inches Long; 48 inches High; and 37inches wide Delivery and installation should be included in quote Customer is open to entertaining any combination of materials (except wood) that will meet the structural requirements of the containers without compromising its integrity. For example, a strong aluminum base & ramp with a composite cover.
